Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Stratig Consulting ("we", "us"), the operator of AspireWala (formerly CareerLinkr), collects, uses, shares and protects personal data, and what choices you have. It is intended to meet our obligations under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and the rules made under it.

1. Who We Are

2. What We Collect and Why

  • Name and email address — when you create an account, or from your Google account if you sign in with Google. Used to create and secure your account and to contact you about it.
  • Phone number (optional) — when you add it to your profile, or confirm a number found in your résumé. Kept on your profile for your use. We do not share it, and we call you only as described under "Calls" below.
  • Current location, up to three preferred locations, skills, education, years of experience, headline and desired role — when you fill in your profile, or confirm details found in your résumé. Used to show you matching jobs.
  • Jobs you mark as applied — when you click "Mark as applied". Used to show you your own list of applications.
  • Your confirmation that you are 18 or older, and the date and policy version you agreed to — when you create an account or first sign in. Kept as a record of your consent.
  • Files and notes you send with a service request (for example a résumé or a LinkedIn export) — when you submit a request. Used to fulfil that request.
  • Company name, contact email, mobile number, website, industry and location — when a company registers. Used to review and approve the company and to contact it about its account.
  • Recruiter email addresses in job listings — when a company or our team posts a job. Shown to signed-in job seekers so they can contact the recruiter.
  • Technical logs (for example IP address and request times) — collected automatically by our hosting and database providers. Used to keep the Platform secure and running.
  • Visit counts — when you open a page, and when you use certain features (for example opening a job, using the location filter, searching or matching a résumé in the chat assistant, opening or requesting a career service, or clicking through to an employer's site), our own systems record which page or feature it was, the date and time, and whether you were signed in. We never record what you type, your search terms, the contents of your résumé, or which specific job you opened. To count daily visitors without identifying you, your IP address and browser type are combined with a random code that changes every day and turned into a one-way code. Your IP address itself is not stored, and each day's random code is deleted the next day, so visits cannot be linked across days or traced back to you. No cookies are used for this. If your browser sends a "Do Not Track" or "Global Privacy Control" signal, your visits are not counted at all. Used to understand which parts of the Platform are used, so we can improve it.

Apart from the visit counts described above, which we run ourselves, we do not use analytics services, advertising cookies or tracking tools, and we do not record your screen or your clicks. We do not collect card or bank details.

Fit Check: job descriptions you paste and résumés you upload on the Fit Check page are read in your browser and are not sent to or stored on our servers. If you paste a job link instead, our server fetches that page once to read the job details and does not keep it. Visitors without an account can run 2 checks a day; to apply that limit, we keep a count against a one-way code made from your IP address and browser type, which changes daily, and delete it after 2 days. Your IP address itself is not stored.

Résumés read in your browser: when you upload a résumé to fill in your profile or to see matching jobs, including without an account, the file is read on your own device, in your browser. It is not uploaded to or stored on our servers. Only the details you choose to add to your profile are saved. For visitors without an account, the skills found are kept only in your browser and are deleted when you close the tab.

Calls: we call you only about a service request you raised, and only if you ticked "may call me about this request" on that request. We record your answer and when you gave it. The box is unticked unless you tick it, and without it we reply by email only. We never call you to sell anything. Employers whose jobs you apply to may contact you about that job; they are not us, and their own privacy policies apply. To withdraw, email us and we will stop calling you about that request.

Service-request files are kept in private storage. Only you and the team member handling your request can open them, and every access by our team is logged.

3. How We Use Your Data

We use personal data only for the purposes listed above: running your account, showing you relevant jobs, fulfilling your requests, reviewing company accounts, understanding how the Platform is used, and keeping the Platform secure. We will not use your data for marketing, or for any new purpose, without asking for your consent first.

5. Who We Share Data With

We do not sell personal data. We share it only with service providers that help us run the Platform, only as far as they need it, and where the law requires it:

  • Supabase — database and file storage. Our data is stored in India.
  • Vercel — website hosting.
  • Google — sign-in, if you choose "Continue with Google".
  • Anthropic — AI processing for the career tools. Inputs you submit to an AI tool are sent to Anthropic in the United States.
  • Topmate — some career services (such as résumé reviews, LinkedIn optimisation and interview preparation) are booked on Topmate, a third-party platform. When you book there, Topmate collects the details you give it under its own terms and privacy policy. These sessions are currently free.

We do not currently share job-seeker profiles with employers. Some listings, marked "Careers page", link to an employer's own website. If you apply there, you share information with that employer directly, under its own terms and privacy policy.

6. Where Your Data Is Processed

Our database and file storage are in India. Inputs to the AI tools are processed in the United States by Anthropic. Our hosting provider may serve the website from locations outside India.

7. How Long We Keep Data

  • Account and profile data, your applied-jobs list and your service requests: kept while your account exists. When you delete your account, they are deleted immediately.
  • Service-request files: kept while your account exists, so you can download your results. They are deleted when you delete your account, or earlier if you ask us.
  • Company account data: kept while the company account is active, and deleted on request when it is closed.
  • Technical logs: kept by our hosting and database providers for limited periods, under their own settings.
  • Visit counts: kept for 180 days, then deleted. The random code used to count each day's visitors is deleted the next day.
  • Fit Check daily limits: kept for 2 days, then deleted.
  • Records of our team opening uploaded files: kept after an account is deleted, as a security record. They contain no file contents.

We keep data longer only where the law requires it.

8. Your Rights

You can ask us to:

  • tell you what personal data we hold about you and how we use it;
  • correct or complete inaccurate data (you can also edit your profile yourself);
  • erase your data and delete your account (you can also do this yourself from your Profile page);
  • withdraw your consent;
  • resolve a grievance about how we handle your data.

You can also nominate another person to exercise these rights for you if you die or become unable to do so.

Email connect@stratigconsulting.in. We may ask you to confirm your identity. We aim to respond within 7 days. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the Data Protection Board of India.

9. Age Requirement

AspireWala is only for people aged 18 or over. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. If we learn that we have, we will delete it.

10. Browser Storage

We do not use advertising cookies. We store a small amount of information in your browser to keep you signed in, to remember your language and theme, and to hold résumé skills for the current session as described above. Clearing your browser's site data signs you out and resets these settings.

11. Security

We use reasonable safeguards, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), access controls on our database, private file storage and logged staff access to uploaded files. No system is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

12. If a Breach Happens

If a personal data breach affects you, we will tell you without undue delay. We will explain what happened, the likely consequences, what we are doing about it and whom to contact. We will also notify the authorities as the law requires.

13. Changes to This Policy

If we make a material change, we will tell you by email or with a notice on the Platform before it takes effect, and ask you to agree to the new version. The latest version is always on this page.
